Privacy Policy
Effective June 10, 2026 · applies to the Bleeping Weather apps (iOS, Android, macOS) and bleepingweather.com
The short version
We don't want your data. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no trackers, no selling anything to anyone.
Location
To show your weather, the app needs coordinates. If you grant location access, your approximate coordinates are sent directly to Open-Meteo, a weather data provider, solely to fetch the forecast. We never receive, store, or log your location on any server of ours. You can also enter a location manually, in which case the same applies to what you typed. See Open-Meteo's terms for their handling.
What stays on your device
Your settings (location choice, profanity level, colors, layout) are stored locally on your device and never leave it.
The website
The demo on our homepage works the same way as the apps: coordinates go to Open-Meteo from your browser, and a phrase is fetched from our server — the request contains the current weather condition (like "rain") and nothing about you. Our phrase-voting page stores the name you choose and your ratings so we can count votes; that's its entire purpose and its entire data collection.
Purchases
If you buy anything in the apps, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We receive no payment details.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date.
